Summer Institute for Advanced Researchers: Preserving Your Family History Papers
July 10 - July 13, 2019

You’ve been researching your family history for years and have most likely amassed binders, notebooks, and boxes of genealogical notes, family papers, photographs, letters, and more. Learn how to organize and preserve these important family heirlooms for generations to come. In this four-day, intensive program, the archival experts at New England Historic Genealogical Society and the Jewish Heritage Center at NEHGS will provide hands-on help to assess your collection for preservation needs, store and care for photographs and albums, manage your born-digital files, scan and digitize your materials, and organize your collection. Participants will transport a portion of their collection to NEHGS for processing during the program. Open to current NEHGS members only. Includes materials.
